On February 25, Polish protesters opposed to the terms of the “green corridor” resumed blocking the Ustyluh-Zosyn checkpoint. Currently, approximately 2,500 trucks are waiting in line, with drivers unable to return to Ukraine.
What is happening at the border now
The blockade of one of the largest checkpoints, which was open until a few days ago, has resumed. Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, told us what is happening there and how many trucks and cars are waiting in line. “According to Mr. Demchenko, farmers are blocking traffic in six directions. The biggest protests are near the Krakivets, Rava-Ruska, and Yahodyn checkpoints. However, at the Ustyluh checkpoint, a certain decrease in blocking has already been recorded, which does not significantly affect the situation at all,” Inkor reports.
How to get around by car
Polish protesters deny that cars and passenger buses are being blocked. However, even ordinary cars cannot drive normally due to significant congestion from trucks; they have to wait in lines. The farmers’ protests in the village of Zosiny were again marked by pro-Putin accusations. The Polish government will have to respond to this in the near future. Ukraine has already developed a plan of agreements with Poland to resolve the situation on the border.
